Welcome to Kevin Cochran's Musky Fishing Guide Service

Fishing the Bemidji & Cass Lake Areas of Minnesota

My name is Kevin Cochran and thank you for taking time to visit my web site. I am the ONLY full-time musky fishing guide in the Bemidji and Cass Lake areas of Minnesota. Muskies are my passion and they are the only fish that I target. I began fishing the Bemidji area lakes in 2000. Over the last 20 years I have established a strategic game plan centered around the yearly peak activity of the lakes that I guide on. This allows me to have a rough outline prior to the musky season beginning. Weather conditions and solunar periods also play an important role in lake selection. Basically, we will be fishing the lake that will give us the best opportunity to connect with fish at the time we are scheduled.

I have experience guiding beginners that are looking to catch their first fish and seasoned musky fisherman interested in increasing their knowledge of a specific body of water. I have guided veteran anglers to tournament wins in the past. 2020 marks the 16th year I have been guiding muskies in the Cass Lake and Bemidji areas. Regardless of what you are looking for you will have an exciting and informative time on the water with me. I am an enthusiastic and motivated fisherman that has a passion for teaching you the reasons behind the tactics we are implementing. I will provide you with on the water information and techniques that you need to put more and bigger fish in the boat. It is my goal to make sure that your experiences with me are positive and educational. My clients are the focal point of the trip and not me.

Musky fishing in the Bemidji and Cass Lake Minnesota areas is a unique and rewarding experience. There is an excellent chance to connect with a 50-inch fish and muskies in the mid to upper 40 inch range are common. Musky fishing in the area is absolutely incredible. The area is made up of a variety of lakes, which range in size from 300 acres to almost 26,000 acres. The composition and structure of these lakes vary greatly which allow me to use many different tactics to put my clients on fish. I am in-tune with the daily patterns and movements due to being on the water every day.

I am the former Vice President of the Bemidji/Cass Lake Chapter of Muskies Inc. and currently a member. I am involved in protecting this vital resource so the younger generations will experience it. Catch and release is a must and I am an advocate of releasing everything regardless of circumstances. My clients and I quickly photograph and release the fish back in the water so that other anglers will have the exciting opportunity to catch the same fish. We occasionally encounter the same fish and this is what catch and release is all about.
